What we did this weekend

Can you imagine the sound of a large bin of legos falling off a bunk bed?  Now imagine the effect that might have on a person who is sleeping peacefully.  That will explain why this post is being created at 3:45 AM. 

Have you seen this adorable dress created by Cami at Tidbits? 

I decided to make one.  It looked fairly easy.  It's made entirely from t shirts, and since I only had old white ones that said Neways on them I picked up a few when I went yard sale-ing on Saturday.  I tweaked the pattern a little and created this little number.  Only I shouldn't have tweaked.  I unpicked way too much and it took me pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday.  I left the neckline for last because I wasn't sure what color I wanted it.  When it was all done I sat and admired it, then went to put it on Allie, only to discover the neck was too small and it wouldn't go over her head. 

 I could have fixed it but I was so sick of the project at this point I just chopped the top off and made it into a little skirt.

  . . . which doesn't fit her very well and tends to fall off.  So it will probably go into a box of clothes on a closet shelf to be used when she's a little bigger. 

 

It was a fun project anyway.

 This is what the boys in the family did all weekend:
Worked on putting bikes together,

played Minecraft and watched eachother play Minecraft.  Apparently it's addicting.

What we clearly did not do this weekend is clean the house.  Maybe next weekend, if we have nothing better to do.
